DMS REAL TALK 2024

This is a new event introduced in 2022, where students are given the opportunity to hear from some lecturers of the Department via YouTube and get their questions answered.

 

The DMS Real Talk took place on Math Fair Day.

“Aesthetically Appealing! Beautiful Exciting Mathematics”

by Dr Andrew Hunte

Dr. Andrew Hunte is a leading figure in mathematics education. Dr. Hunte serves as the Head of School of Humanities and Education at the UWI Five Islands Campus in Antigua and Barbuda. Dr. Hunte holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction of Mathematics and a M.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign as well as a MPhil and B.Sc. in Mathematics from the UWI.

Dr. Hunte is a strong advocate for Open Educational Resources (OER) in STEM education across the Caribbean. Dr. Hunte has spearheaded initiatives to help educators incorporate OER into their curricula with the aim of enhancing teaching methods, fostering critical thinking and making STEM education more accessible and innovative across the Caribbean region.
