ABOUT THE MATH FAIR

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics annually hosts the “UWI Math Fair”.
The Math Fair is an event targeting primarily secondary school students to spark their interest in applications of Mathematics.

OUR OBJECTIVES

To allow students to view Mathematics in an exciting way using various puzzles and logic games to increase interest in the field

To spark enthusiasm for the various applications of Mathematics in real-life

To highlight the various programmes and research opportunities available at the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST)

WHAT DOES THE FAIR ENTAIL?

There will be a multitude of activities, puzzles and brain teasers to attract students and promote enthusiasm for the field of Mathematics.

A number of competitions will be held including Math Creativity, Teacher's Game Design and Math Olympics.

On Math Fair Day,  there will be an Opening Ceremony, DMS Real Talk and Games/Fun activities
